Group 1: ‘My Forbidden Face – growing up under the Taliban: A Young Woman’s Story’ Group 2: ‘The Pact – three young men make a promise to fulfill a dream’ The students are responsible for taking on a variety of roles, preparing for class discussions and completing response journals. Week Feb18 - 22 Monday 18th – Period 1 Students complete journal response after initial reading in preparation for class discussion. Tuesday 19th – Period 2 Class discussion of response journal – one and two Group 1 students meet with Group 2 students – information exchange. Group 1: chapters 1- 2 character analysis Group 2: Chapters 1- 3 character analysis Wednesday 20th – Period 5 Students continue working on character analysis. Group 1 – analysis/reflection on preface Group 2 – analysis/reflection on the introduction Thursday 21st – no class Friday 22nd – Period 2 Group 1: working on journal responses to chapters 1-2 Group 2: working on journal responses to chapters 1-3
